Barefoot in the Snow

She was lost and wandering, no idea of who or where she was. The snow had already covered the ground with enough moisture to form a thick blanket of white upon the grounds. Most people scurried by in a rush to reach their destinations and few had taken notice of the woman who wandered through the gates of the Courtyard.

She was clutching her arms close to her body and her hair was full of snow. It had pulled itself into her face and was slicked to her features. All that could be seen through the hair was a set of crystal blue eyes. They scoured the grounds and the strange place she now found herself in. Did she know this place? No she did not. That was the thing she was most certain about.

Shuffling slowly to the center of the yard she began to notice that some people did seem to be slowing down and taking notice of her haggard appearance. But she paid them little mind. She just wanted to reach the center of the yard then she would be able to rest for a minute, yes a little rest that was what she need to clear her mind and help her remember something. What was it she wanted to remember? Surely it would come to her if she reached that spot.
